Lubok Antu Grassroots Leaders Trained in Governance

LUBOK ANTU — Over 50 community leaders from across Lubok Antu District participated in a governance capacity-building workshop at Rumah Dimbap Anak Awet on Saturday, strengthening their role in implementing Sarawak’s development agenda.

Organized by the Lubok Antu District KMKK Association and Serubah Ili JKKK, the session equipped Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) members and Community/Tribal Leaders (KMKK) with essential administrative skills.

District Officer Aloi Ejau opened the workshop, emphasizing: “Your integrity and effectiveness directly impact rural development success.” Key modules covered:

Pemanca Grang Juben demonstrated digital tools for meeting documentation, while Pemanca Chua Kee Long addressed cultural preservation strategies. Administrative Officer Stanley Nunsang clarified updated protocols under Sarawak’s Public Administration Modernization Initiative.

The training aligns with Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030s grassroots empowerment targets. Attendee Langga Melina noted: “We’ve gained concrete skills to manage our village’s RM200,000 RTP allocation.” Future workshops will address disaster response coordination and entrepreneurship facilitation.
