According to Lutong BBP Chief Henry Jugah, his team received a distress call at 10:48 AM regarding the locked car. Without delay, a team of six firefighters was dispatched to the scene, located in the courtyard of Ar’Rayyan Mosque, Bandar Baru Permyjaya, about 10 kilometers from the fire station.

“Upon arrival, our operational response team (PKO) found that the elderly man’s car door was locked from the inside, preventing him from getting in,” Henry stated in an official report.

Special Equipment Used for Safe Rescue

To resolve the situation, the team used special tools to unlock the car without causing any damage. Within minutes, the door was successfully opened, much to the relief of the elderly owner.

The firefighters ensured everything was in order before concluding the operation and returning to their station.

A Reminder on Car Lock Safety

This incident serves as a reminder for car owners to always check their vehicle locks before exiting. In case of similar emergencies, the public is encouraged to contact the nearest fire and rescue department for assistance.

The Lutong BBP team’s swift response and professional handling of the situation highlight their commitment to community service and safety in Miri.
