Madani Programme Bolsters Community Ties in Sungai Asap

BELAGA – The Jiwa @ Komuniti Madani Programme has reinforced grassroots unity through its concluding event for the year, held at Uma Balui Liko in Sungai Asap.

This initiative, orchestrated by the Malaysian Information Department (JaPen) Belaga, assembled participants from the Koyan, Tubau, and Asap zones.

Senator Michael Mujah Lihan presided over the occasion, underscoring the programme’s function as a key platform for conveying precise information on state and national policies.

He characterised the Madani Community as a cohesive force that enhances mutual understanding among Malaysia’s diverse racial, cultural, and religious groups.

Direct engagement with residents, he affirmed, remains the most effective method for disseminating authentic details about government incentives and contemporary issues.

Discussions encompassed schemes such as Budi Madani RON95Sara Khas RM100, Budget 2025, and Sarawak-specific measures like SKAS, complimentary education, laptop aid, and student support programmes.

Senator Michael also advised the community to exercise caution against digital frauds, including Macau Scams and Love Scams.

He referenced the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, reaffirming the government’s dedication to upgrading rural telecommunications and internet infrastructure to stimulate economic growth and elevate living standards.

In a tangible show of support, he disclosed financial allocations totalling RM13,000, comprising RM10,000 for the JKKK Uma Balui Liko and RM1,000 each for three Komuniti Madani zones in Murum.

He extended his appreciation to JaPen Belaga and local inhabitants for their concerted efforts in ensuring the programme’s efficacy.

The gathering culminated in a Julut cultural dance presentation by youths from Uma Balui Liko and Uma Baha, highlighting the region’s rich traditions and communal spirit.
