TAWAU, 29 April 2025 – A lifeless body of a man was discovered in a water-filled drain near Ba Zhong Commercial Centre, shocking passersby and disrupting traffic flow in the area.
The disturbing discovery was made around 12.30 PM today along Jalan Tawau Lama, a key route connecting the town centre to Jalan Damai and Kampung Titingan. Members of the public first noticed the body and quickly alerted the Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD Tawau) and the Fire and Rescue Department.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was found fully clothed in a short-sleeved shirt and black pants, and had visible injuries to his face. The body was lying in a drain filled with water, sparking suspicion among onlookers.
The scene soon drew a crowd, causing heavy traffic congestion in the area. Police arrived shortly after and cordoned off the scene to secure the location and begin initial investigations.
