Rescue Team Mobilised

Following the distress call, a team from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to the scene at approximately 2.30pm. Upon arrival, they retrieved the victim’s body and handed it over to the police for further action.

With the teenager still missing, authorities launched a SAR operation covering a 2-kilometre radius along the river and nearby land areas.

Search Operations Suspended at Nightfall

By 5.30pm, rescue teams gathered for a briefing on the progress of the operation. However, as daylight faded, the SAR team had to suspend the search at 6pm. The operation is set to resume tomorrow morning.

Authorities urge local villagers and river users to stay cautious, especially during the ongoing monsoon season when river conditions can be unpredictable.
