KUCHING, 3 May 2025 — The MBKS and SUPP’s Mobile Service2U outreach program made another successful stop this morning at a kopitiam in Petanak, bringing essential government services straight to the community’s doorstep.

Residents in the area took the opportunity to apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), and various other welfare aid. The session was led by Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng 黄鸿圣, alongside MBKS Councilors Cr Eric Tay Tze Kok and Cr Andy Lester Tan, with the support of KMKK officers and local volunteers.
“We are thankful to everyone who came today and gave their feedback. It helps us improve and better serve the people,” said Cr Eric Tay, who praised the teamwork shown by council members and community leaders.
Services at Your Doorstep
The initiative is part of MBKS’s ongoing effort to make public service more accessible and efficient, especially for the elderly and those unable to travel to government offices. Locating the session in a familiar setting like a local kopitiam helps increase attendance and engagement.
Residents were assisted on the spot with form-filling, clarifications, and document checks, making the process easier for first-time applicants. Volunteers also took note of concerns raised by the public, with promises to escalate feedback to the relevant authorities.
More Outreach Events Ahead
This is not a one-off effort. The MBKS team has pledged to continue these sessions in other parts of the city, ensuring that no resident is left behind when it comes to government support.
The Mobile Service2U initiative has proven to be a successful community bridge, connecting people with services they need in a simple and friendly environment. The strong collaboration between MBKS, SUPP, KMKK, and local leaders reflects a shared commitment to grassroots service.
