Kuching South City Council Organises World Environmental Health Day 2025

Kuching South City Council Organises World Environmental Health Day 2025

KUCHING – The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is set to stage a full-day event in observance of World Environmental Health Day on Friday, 3 October 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the MBKS City Hall.

Under the banner “Clean Air, Healthy People”, the event aims to spotlight how air quality affects public health and to promote actionable steps toward a more sustainable urban environment. The theme aligns with the recent World Environmental Health Day 2025 focus on clean air and well-being.

The programme will feature environmental exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and a used-clothing recycling drive open to all attendees.

In a bid to minimise waste, participants are urged to bring clean second-hand clothing and to use reusable water bottles and shopping bags, thereby reducing reliance on single-use plastics.

Admission to the event is free. MBKS is inviting the public, including families, students and community groups, to engage in the day’s activities.

By combining education and tangible environmental initiatives, MBKS hopes to make World Sanitation Day more than a symbolic observance.

The city council has previously demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship through initiatives such as recycling murals at collection centres.

This event underscores MBKS’s broader role in governance, including public health, sanitation, waste management and environmental protection across the southern half of Kuching.
