In his address, Ding said he was pleased to celebrate one of the most important festivals in the Tiong Hua calendar with students and teachers.

He spoke about the Year of the Horse 2026 and the classical idea of “Qian Li Ma”, or the Thousand Mile Horse, a symbol of endurance, perseverance and steady progress. He urged students to carry that spirit forward by setting clear goals, building confidence and making full use of digital technology to raise Meradong’s standing.

“Education remains the main foundation in building the future of children in Meradong and Sarawak,” he said, adding that teachers and parents play a central role in guiding young people toward success.

Ding also announced an RM10,000 grant for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association to support activities throughout 2026. The contribution reflects ongoing support for school development and a positive learning environment.
