MERADONG – The Meradong District Police Headquarters (IPD Meradong) carried out an integrated crime prevention operation today, running from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm.
The initiative was led by Insp. Mohd Salman Zulfitri Sheekandar, who served as field officer, supported by a team of 15 personnel, including senior officers.
The operation was conducted across several identified hotspot areas, including Jalan Kelupu, Jalan Bakong, Taman Bintang, and surrounding parts of Bintangor.
Police presence was strengthened through vehicle patrols and roadblocks (SJR) at strategic locations, aimed at curbing criminal activity and ensuring public safety.
During the course of the operation, a total of 84 individuals were checked, comprising 48 men and 36 women. Officers also inspected 65 vehicles, ranging from motorcycles and cars to vans, four-wheel drives, and lorries.
Enforcement action was taken against traffic offenders, with six summonses issued for various violations. However, no arrests or seizures were reported throughout the day.
Police noted that the operation was primarily preventive, focusing on visibility and deterrence rather than punitive measures.
Authorities highlighted that such integrated operations are part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in the district.
By targeting high-risk areas and increasing patrols, the police aim to reassure the public and reduce opportunities for crime.
The Meradong District Police Headquarters has confirmed that similar operations will continue periodically.
These measures are intended to strengthen community confidence in law enforcement and ensure that residents feel secure in their daily activities.
