Meradong Police Conduct Integrated Crime Prevention Operation

MERADONG – The Meradong District Police Headquarters (IPD) carried out an integrated crime prevention operation on Friday, aimed at enhancing public safety and tackling criminal activities across the district.

The operation was led by Insp Norfadilah Zainal, supported by SI Jivson Rockson Chin Chang, with a total of 16 personnel involved, including one senior officer and 15 lower-ranking members.

Their collective efforts were directed towards reducing crime rates in identified hot spots, curbing offences linked to drugs, gambling and immorality, and strengthening police visibility through patrols and snap checks.

Several areas were targeted during the operation, including Jalan Kelupu, Jalan KJD, Jalan Bakong, Jalan Kilang, Taman Bintang, Taman Alomara, Jalan Tulai, Taman Paris Height, Taman Vynyrd Residen, Kampung Melayu and Tanjung Genting.

Roadblocks and snap checks were also conducted at Mile 6, Jalan Kelupu, serving as a preventive measure against criminal movement into Meradong.

Throughout the exercise, police inspected 68 individuals, comprising 40 men and 28 women. In addition, 64 vehicles were checked, including six motorcycles, 28 cars, 22 vans, four-wheel drives and eight lorries.

The operation resulted in five Pol. 257 summonses being issued for traffic-related offences. No Pol. 170A summonses were recorded, and no arrests or seizures were made during the course of the operation.

Authorities explained that the initiative was carried out in areas identified as crime-prone, with the roadblocks at Bintangor’s entry point designed to deter criminal activities from spreading into Meradong.

The police emphasised that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to maintain community safety and reassure residents of their commitment to law enforcement.
