Meradong Festival 2025 to Boost Agrotourism

BINTANGOR – An upcoming nine-day festival is poised to position Bintangor as a prominent agrotourism destination while fostering community cohesion. The Meradong Festival is scheduled to run from 8 to 16 November 2025.

The event’s patron, Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, who is also the Meradong assemblyman, emphasised that the festival serves a dual purpose.

It is designed not only to draw visitors to the region but also to strengthen unity among the local population. He expressed these sentiments while addressing the third general committee meeting for the festival.

Chaired by Thomas Geoffrey Kendawang, the Meradong District Officer and Festival Chairman, the meeting finalised preparations for the event.

Datuk Ding anticipates the festival will attract over 5,000 visitors from across the district and beyond, providing a significant boost to the local economy and household incomes.

Local vendors and traders are set to benefit directly, with an opportunity to commence selling from 1 November to allow for setup and preparation.

Approximately 120 stalls will offer a diverse range of products, including food and beverages, traditional attire, and entertainment.

The festival operates under the theme ‘Harmony in Diversity’, reflecting its community-building ambitions. Organisers hope the various planned attractions will make the event a highly anticipated annual occasion, elevating Bintangor’s profile on the domestic tourism map.
