Festive Spirit Lights Up 3rd Mile and 10th Mile Markets in Batu Kitang

BATU KITANG — In the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, YB Dato Lo Khere Chiang, together with community leaders and local comrades, spent the morning visiting the 3rd Mile and 10th Mile markets to share festive cheer with hardworking vendors.

The team distributed mooncakes to stall owners and shoppers, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere filled with laughter and gratitude. The initiative, held ahead of the Mid-Autumn celebration, aimed to strengthen community ties and remind residents of the festival’s deeper meaning — togetherness, unity, and the importance of caring for one another.

Dato Lo said the Mooncake Festival is not only a time to celebrate Chinese culture but also a symbol of Malaysia’s diversity and harmony among communities.

“The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds us to stay united and care for each other. It bridges generations, connects families, and fosters understanding among our multicultural society,” he said during the visit.

The market scene was lively as vendors greeted the delegation with smiles and appreciation. Many expressed gratitude to Dato Lo and his team for their efforts to keep traditional values alive while engaging directly with the people.

“We truly appreciate his presence. It’s rare for leaders to visit us personally during festive seasons,” said one stall owner.

Dato Lo also took the opportunity to thank all market vendors for their hard work and contribution to the local economy, saying their daily efforts keep the community vibrant and thriving.

“Festivals like this remind us that even in our busy lives, kindness and unity hold our community together,” he added.

As the celebration concluded, Dato Lo extended his heartfelt wishes to all residents for a joyful and peaceful Mid-Autumn Festival filled with love, reunion, and blessings.
