Miri Man Arrested Over Stolen Motorcycle Parts Case

MIRI – Police successfully arrested a 27-year-old local man in connection with the theft of motorcycle components in the Miri district. The arrest was carried out following a careful operation led by ASP Goldy Anak Jangan, Chief of Miri Police Station, along with a team of CPJ members from Miri Central Police Station.

The operation took place at around 9.40 pm in the Miri area, where authorities detained the suspect after confirming his involvement in the theft case. During the arrest, police also seized a motorcycle that was discovered to be fitted with a stolen engine, further linking the individual to the criminal activity.

The suspect is currently being held in the Miri Central Police Station lockup to assist with further investigations. He faces charges under Section 379A of the Penal Code, which deals with theft-related offences. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing to determine if there are any additional parties involved in similar crimes.

ASP Goldy Anak Jangan urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid any involvement in criminal activities. He emphasised the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour to the police to support ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security in the Miri district.

This arrest serves as a reminder of the persistent efforts by law enforcement to combat theft and other criminal activities in the region. The police continue to encourage the community to cooperate and provide information that can help prevent crime and protect residents’ property.

As the investigation continues, authorities have reassured the public that stricter monitoring and swift action will be taken against anyone found committing theft or related offences.
