Miri RTP Projects Handed Over After Completion

MIRI – Two community enhancement projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Piasau constituency have been formally handed over following their successful completion.

The upgraded facilities at the An-Naim Lutong Mosque and the Kampung Pasir Multipurpose Hall are now ready for public use.

Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, the Piasau Assemblyman and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, presided over the handover ceremony on Monday. He confirmed that each project had an allocation of RM100,000.

The mosque facility upgrade was executed in cooperation with the Piasau Area Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the Public Works Department (JKR).

Simultaneously, the improvements to the Kampung Pasir Multipurpose Hall were carried out alongside the Miri City Council (MBM).

Datuk Sebastian Ting expressed his appreciation that both initiatives were finished according to their planned timelines.

He noted that these enhancements would allow residents to conduct social, community, and religious activities in a more comfortable and secure environment.

The hall project commenced on 10 February 2025 and was concluded on 9 May 2025. The event was also attended by Pemanca Leonard Fong, community leaders Kapitan Aries Leong and Kapitan Chan Chai Ping, Councillor Lisa Yu, and representatives from the implementing agencies and contractor.
