KUCHING – Founder of Yacutha, Coop Taha, has once again made his mark in the world of fashion and pageantry by serving as the show choreographer and pageant walk coach for the Miss Cultural International Sarawak 2025. Known for his strong passion in uplifting the young generation, Coop said his role goes beyond preparing contestants for the stage.
“I have a soft spot when it comes to matters involving young talents. I always share my experience and expertise with them as much as I can,” he said, adding that all his shows exclusively feature young local models to build their confidence not only for pageants but also for everyday life and work.
Coop recently returned from Kuala Lumpur where he was invited to showcase Sarawak fashion brands at the Kuala Lumpur Men’s Fashion Week 2025. Despite receiving the invitation at the last minute, he accepted the challenge as it was in collaboration with JCI and aimed at nurturing the younger generation.
The Miss Cultural International Sarawak 2025 was organised by JCI Damai, led by organizer Jie Sean, with support from prominent figures including filmmaker Bjarne Wong, 2016 Miss Cheongsam Sapphire Wong, and Yacutha. He stressed that the event was not just about beauty but also a women empowerment project.
“All contestants are under 25, with the youngest only 18. This competition is about building confidence through public speaking and pageantry. It is part of a self-development journey that many often overlook in today’s fast-paced world,” Sean explained.
The event saw the contestants overcoming their nerves and performing impressively on stage. Sean expressed his pride in their progress and extended his gratitude to the judges and trainers, including Yacutha, Bjarne, Sapphire, and Linda, whose contributions ensured the event’s success.
“This is about more than a pageant—it is about personal growth and empowerment,” Coop concluded.
