KUCHING — The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Lintang Branch successfully concluded its latest Mobile Service initiative on Sunday, 27 July 2025, with an enthusiastic turnout from local residents — particularly senior citizens — who came forward to access government assistance services and provide community feedback.

Held at the SUPP Batu Lintang Branch from 9AM to 10AM, the one-hour session focused primarily on helping elderly residents apply for or collect their Kenyalang Gold Cards (KGC) — a state government initiative offering healthcare, lifestyle discounts, and welfare support to senior Sarawakians.

According to a representative from the Batu Lintang team, the event ran smoothly and efficiently, with many seniors successfully obtaining their cards without delay. Volunteers and staff were on hand to assist the elderly through every step of the application and collection process.

“This Mobile Service is part of our ongoing commitment to bring public services directly to the people,” said the branch spokesperson Sih Hua Tong. “We were especially encouraged by the high turnout and the positive response from our community. Many elderly residents expressed appreciation for the convenience.”

In addition to KGC services, the mobile team also took the opportunity to engage with residents to hear their feedback on local infrastructure, public safety, and welfare concerns. These community inputs, the branch assured, will be documented and escalated to relevant authorities for follow-up.

The branch emphasized that such mobile efforts will continue in other neighbourhoods to ensure all communities have direct access to assistance without needing to travel far.

“This is our way of staying connected to the people. We will continue to listen, support, and deliver,” the team added.
