KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Education’s Vocational Technical Education and Training Division (BPLTV) is set to mark a significant milestone as its Vocational College (KV) Convocation Ceremony enters its tenth year.
This annual event is not merely a celebration of academic achievement but a testament to the success of Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in producing graduates who are both skilled and industry-ready.
According to Ts. Zulkernai bin Fauzi, Director of BPLTV, the convocation symbolises the culmination of efforts to align education with the demands of the modern workforce.
“This ceremony reflects the strength of our KV system in nurturing talent that meets the evolving needs of industries nationwide,” he stated.
The event also recognises outstanding graduates through prestigious awards, including the Minister of Education’s Gold Award, the Director General of Education Malaysia’s Special Award, the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) Presidential Award, and the Best Student Program Award.
A remarkable achievement highlighted by BPLTV is the employability rate of KV graduates for 2024, which stands at 99.95% as of 1 January 2026.
This figure underscores TVET’s pivotal role in shaping a workforce that is not only competent but also highly sought after by employers across various sectors.
The Ministry of Education (MOE), through BPLTV, ensures that the KV curriculum remains dynamic and relevant by regularly updating it in collaboration with industry partners.
This proactive approach aligns with the goals of the Malaysia Education Plan 2026–2035, which positions TVET as a cornerstone in developing globally competitive human capital.
By fostering strong ties between education and industry, Malaysia’s vocational colleges are empowering students to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economic growth.
The upcoming convocation serves as a reminder of the country’s commitment to innovation, skill development, and the creation of a future-ready workforce.
