KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) reinforced its commitment to employee wellness by organising a Health Screening Program and Healthy Eating Practices Briefing at its Training Room today.
Held from 8:00am to 12:00pm, the initiative aimed to foster a healthy workplace culture and raise awareness among MPKS staff about the importance of holistic health care. The event was held in collaboration with the Samarahan Division Health Office.
The programme was officiated by MPKS Municipal Secretary Gustian Durani, who applauded the collaborative effort in promoting health consciousness within the public sector.
As part of the programme, Constance Geoffrey, a Nutritional Science Officer from the Asajaya Health Clinic, delivered a practical and informative briefing on healthy eating practices. Her session highlighted the importance of a balanced diet and how small daily changes can lead to long-term health improvements.
Participants had access to basic health screenings, including blood pressure and glucose level checks, enabling early detection of potential health issues.
“This programme not only empowers our staff to monitor their health but also promotes a culture of mindful eating,” said Gustian. “Efforts like these are vital in building a productive, healthy, and welfare-focused civil service.”
MPKS plans to continue hosting similar initiatives in support of community wellness and employee well-being.
