MPP Blocks Unauthorised Jalan Segubang Earthworks

PADAWAN – The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has taken enforcement action by erecting a barrier to halt unauthorised earthworks along Jalan Segubang.

This measure was implemented after the landowner repeatedly failed to secure the necessary road permit from the council.

According to an official statement, the illicit activities had caused significant inconvenience to the public and resulted in damage to roads under the council’s maintenance.

The MPP reported that it had engaged with the landowner on multiple occasions, instructing them to comply with regulations by obtaining the proper permit, but these directives were ignored.

MPP Chairman, Cr. Tan Kai, emphasised that all developers and landowners undertaking works that involve the use of council roads are obliged to apply for a road permit. He stressed the critical importance of public safety and adherence to local regulations in all such projects.

“All parties must be responsible when using public roads and comply with Council regulations,” he stated. He further added that road safety is a collective responsibility, confirming the council’s commitment to working with authorities to ensure compliance.

Access to the site has now been completely restricted. The barrier effectively stops all further work at the location until the landowner regularises their operations with the council.
