Sarawak Launches Digital System for Faster Social Case Resolution

Sarawak Launches Digital System for Faster Social Case Resolution

KUCHING — Sarawak’s Social Development Council (MPS) has launched the Integrated Social Development and Intervention Management System (ISDIMS), a digital platform designed to streamline responses to 13 critical social issues through real-time data coordination.

Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah unveiled the system Thursday following the MPS Bill 1 Meeting at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, calling it “the backbone of Sarawak’s social development digital transformation.”

ISDIMS enables cross-agency data sharing for accelerated interventions, replacing manual processes that previously delayed case resolution. “Social cases now receive faster, integrated responses,” stated Fatimah, noting the system identifies patterns across drug abuse, teen pregnancy, homelessness, and ten other mapped challenges.

The minister revealed MPS has completed unprecedented statewide mapping of all 13 issues – expanding from just three previously monitored – enabling targeted advocacy programs.

The platform’s real-time reporting function allows field officers to instantly log cases via mobile devices, triggering automated alerts to relevant agencies. Preliminary trials in Kuching and Miri reduced average intervention time from 14 to 3 days. Fatimah emphasized this supports Sarawak’s broader digital governance goals under Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030.

Deputy Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus added that ISDIMS will generate predictive analytics to anticipate emerging hotspots, with the system scheduled for full rollout across Sarawak’s 40 districts by Q1 2026. Senior officials including Permanent Secretary Datu Felicia Tan Ya Hua attended the launch.
