TATAU: Thousands of fitness enthusiasts and local residents gathered at Sungai Jatan Community Park on Sunday to witness the thrilling Mr Physique & Fitness Tatau 2025 competition.
Organised as part of the annual Tatau Festival 2025, the event drew not only local participants but also attracted competitors from neighbouring Brunei Darussalam, elevating the competition to an international standard. The lively atmosphere at the Main Stage kept the crowd engaged throughout the day.
The competition featured two main categories: Mr. Fitness and Mr. Physique. Participants showcased their dedication, discipline, and results of intensive training through strength, body shape, and overall fitness presentation.
In the Mr. Fitness Category, the top honours went to Mohamad Safwat Mazlan as Champion, followed by Falizan Saleh as Runner-up, and William Intai Nandi in third place. Meanwhile, the Mr. Physique Category saw Iqbal Bungsu from Miri taking the Champion title, Mohammad Safwat Mazlan as Runner-up, and Anthony Tebie securing third place.
Winners were awarded cash prizes and trophies, with RM1,500 for the Champion, RM1,000 for the Runner-up, and RM700 for the third-place finisher. The prizes underscored the recognition of hard work and perseverance in the field of competitive fitness.
The event was further enlivened by the presence of notable officials, including Tatau District Officer Calvin Ligong, Assistant District Officer Winnie Dian, Administrative Officer Raden Azamry Raden Perhan, and Pemanca Gerosen Jubin, who engaged with participants and spectators alike.
Organisers said the competition aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle while providing a platform for both local and international fitness enthusiasts to demonstrate their capabilities. The success of this year’s Mr Physique & Fitness Tatau is expected to inspire more participants in future editions of the festival. — UKAS EDITION
