MTCP Sarawak Explores Heritage and Digital Skills at Juma’ani Pavilion and Centex Commercial

KUCHING – The Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP) conducted a site visit to Juma’ani Pavilion and Centex Commercial, highlighting Sarawak’s heritage products and digital skills development initiatives.

The visit was led by MTCP Permanent Secretary, Mr Morshidi Fredrick, and accompanied by Datu Dr Sabariah Putit, Advisor of OKSHE.

The programme aimed to explore Sarawak-made heritage products such as local crafts, textiles, and food, while also gaining insights into the digital skills of local youth, artisans, and trained individuals.

These projects are primarily community-based initiatives under OKSHE, carried out in collaboration with Centex Commercial and Centex.

The visit underscored the importance of integrating traditional heritage with modern skills, ensuring that Sarawak’s cultural identity remains vibrant while empowering communities with new opportunities.

Officials noted that the collaboration between MTCP, OKSHE, and Centex reflects a holistic approach to community development.

By supporting artisans and youth through training and exposure, the initiatives aim to strengthen both cultural preservation and economic sustainability.

The site visit also reaffirmed MTCP’s commitment to promoting Sarawak’s creative industry, positioning heritage products and digital innovation as key drivers of tourism and socio-economic growth.
