Mukah Kaul Festival Highlights Cats30 Showcase and Community Awards

MUKAH – The Mukah Kaul Festival 2026 continued to draw large crowds with the vibrant Cats30 Showcase held on the main stage on Sunday evening, 3 May.

The colourful performances and lively atmosphere made the showcase one of the festival’s key attractions, adding to the excitement of the annual cultural celebration.

The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia, YB Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib, alongside YB Abdul Yakub Arbi, Chairman of the Mukah Kaul Main Committee, and YB Royston Valentine, Deputy Chairman of the committee, who attended with his wife.

Their participation underscored the importance of the festival in promoting cultural heritage and community spirit.

As part of the evening programme, YB Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib presented prizes to winners of the Community Stall Competition, a highlight of the festival that showcases creativity and cooperation among local groups.

In the District and Subdistrict category, Mukah District emerged as champion, receiving RM2,000, while Daro District secured second place with RM1,200. Igan Small District took third place, earning RM1,000.

Meanwhile, in the JKKK and Associations category, JKKK Kampung Tutus Ulu Mukah claimed the top prize of RM2,000. JKKK Kampung Tellian Ulu Mukah was awarded RM1,200 as runner-up, and JKKK Kampung Datuk Mukah received RM1,000 for third place.

Organisers congratulated all winners and expressed appreciation to participants for their strong support, which contributed to the success of the competition and the festival overall.
