KUALA LUMPUR, 25 April 2025 – A Nigerian man turned violent during an arrest this morning, biting and severely injuring a Malaysian police corporal’s ear in an aggressive act that shocked onlookers at Jalan Kepong, Metro Prima.
According to Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, the disturbing incident occurred at 10.03am when police were escorting the suspect into a patrol car (MPV) to bring him to the Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD). The man had earlier been detained for causing a scene at a nearby clinic.

While the suspect’s hands were already cuffed behind his back, he suddenly lashed out and bit the officer’s left ear with such force that a part of it was severed.
“The officer was immediately rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for treatment. Thankfully, his condition is stable,” said Datuk Rusdi in a statement.
Investigations revealed that the 38-year-old suspect did not possess any valid travel documents. He is currently being held for further questioning.
The case is being investigated under Section 325 and Section 353 of the Penal Code for causing grievous bodily harm and obstructing a public servant in the performance of duty. Additionally, the suspect faces immigration charges under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for overstaying in the country.
This shocking incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding public safety and the challenges faced by police officers when handling volatile suspects. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed thoroughly. — bharian
