KUCHING — The Kuching District Police Headquarters, through its Criminal Investigation Division, joined forces with the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) to conduct a joint enforcement operation known as Op Bersepadu Noda/Entertainment Center targeting entertainment outlets in the Padungan area.
During the operation, officers inspected one entertainment premises and issued a compound notice to the operator for violating license conditions. A total of 18 individuals, both men and women, were also screened during the inspection.
According to the police, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure that entertainment outlets comply with licensing rules and maintain public safety. The enforcement team focused on ensuring that business owners followed all requirements set by the authorities, particularly those related to operational hours, noise control, and public conduct.
A spokesperson for the Kuching District Police said that Op Bersepadu Noda will continue to be carried out regularly, as part of a broader initiative to uphold law and order in the city’s entertainment districts.
“This operation aims to ensure that the safety and well-being of the community are always prioritised. Continuous enforcement helps prevent illegal activities and maintains public confidence in the authorities,” the statement said.
The collaboration between the police and MBKS reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that entertainment establishments operate responsibly and within the legal framework.
Authorities reminded entertainment premises operators to always comply with their license conditions and cooperate during future inspections. Those found violating regulations may face fines, suspension, or revocation of their business licenses.
This proactive approach by the police and local council highlights the importance of shared responsibility between enforcement agencies and the business community in maintaining a safe and orderly city environment.
