Police Crack Down on Unlicensed Entertainment Centre in Kuching

KUCHING, 6 Nov 2025 — A local man believed to be the custodian of an entertainment premise along Jalan Lapangan Terbang was detained following a police raid under Op Noda/Op Entertainment Center carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuching District Police Headquarters.

According to police, the operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal entertainment activities in the city. During the raid, 10 individuals were inspected within the premises. Investigations revealed that the premise was operating without a valid entertainment license and had failed to produce the required operating permit to authorities.

Law enforcement officers subsequently confiscated several musical instruments and sound system equipment used on the premises. The detained individual is now being investigated under relevant laws related to operating an entertainment outlet without proper authorization.

Kuching District Police Chief, when contacted, reminded all entertainment premise operators to strictly comply with the regulations set by local authorities, emphasizing that enforcement will continue without compromise.

“We will carry out regular monitoring and enforcement to ensure full compliance. Operators found violating the law will face firm action,” the statement said.

This latest action reflects the police’s firm stance against unlicensed entertainment operations, which are often linked to disturbances, public nuisance, and potential unlawful activities. The Kuching District Police reiterated that similar operations will continue in various areas to maintain public order and safety.

Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious entertainment activities to the nearest police station or through the official hotline to help ensure a safe and lawful environment in the community.
