LUNDU: State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Opar, Billy Sujang, conducted a final inspection of three agricultural road projects currently in progress across the Lundu area on Thursday.

The projects are overseen by the Kuching Division Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) and funded through the Greater Kuching Development Agency (GKCDA).

The three projects include:

  • Upgrading of the agricultural road from Kampung Pasir Tengah to Batu Wangkang, valued at RM400,000
  • New agricultural road construction in Kampung Opek, costing RM700,000
  • Road upgrading works in the Tigowan area of Kampung Stungkor Lama, worth RM500,000

Billy stated that the primary goal of these projects is to enhance infrastructure in rural areas, particularly to improve access to agricultural zones, thereby easing the burden on farmers and stimulating the local economy.

Earlier, he also visited the site of a separate project — the new construction of a farming road in Kampung Sebako 2 — implemented by the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA).

Billy assured that he will continue monitoring the progress of all development initiatives in the Opar constituency to ensure that the allocated resources are fully optimised for the benefit of the people.
