PADAWAN – The Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division of the Padawan District Police Headquarters (IPD Padawan) launched a targeted operation in the Teng Bukap area to curb dangerous activities on the road and protect the lives of motorists.
The operation, conducted on Saturday night, focused on illegal street racing, “wheely” stunts, and motorcycles modified beyond safety standards — all of which pose serious risks to riders and the public.
Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent [Name if available], said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure road users’ safety and prevent reckless acts that often lead to fatal accidents.
“We take this issue seriously. Illegal racing and dangerous riding are not only against the law but endanger lives. Our goal is to create safer roads for everyone,” he said in a statement.
During the operation, several motorcycles suspected of being modified for racing were inspected and seized for further investigation under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
Superintendent [Name] reminded young riders that showing off stunts like “wheely” not only invites legal action but could cost them their lives or the lives of others. He also urged parents to play a role in monitoring their children’s activities and ensuring their vehicles are used responsibly.
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious or dangerous activities on the road through the nearby police station or via the official Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) hotline.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to continuous monitoring and enforcement in high-risk areas across Padawan to reduce illegal street racing and promote safer roads for all.
Let us all be responsible and considerate road users — because one reckless act can destroy many lives.
