Raja Muda Selangor Officiates 43rd PALAPES Cadet Commissioning at UPM

SERDANG – His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, today officiated the 43rd Royal Commissioning Ceremony of the Reserve Officer Training Force (PALAPES) Cadet Officers from Public Universities (UA) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang.

A total of 1,927 cadet officers from 20 public universities nationwide were commissioned in the ceremony, marking a significant milestone in their journey as future community leaders and national reserve officers.

During the event, His Royal Highness, who also serves as the Pro-Chancellor of UPM, delivered a royal address highlighting the importance of discipline, chivalry, and patriotism. “The commissioning reflects not only your personal achievements but also the trust placed upon you as leaders who will serve both the nation and your communities,” said Tengku Amir Shah.

His Majesty emphasized that the basic military training acquired during PALAPES will equip the young officers with essential skills, shaping them into disciplined citizens and competent volunteer officers capable of contributing to the country’s defense.

The event was graced by prominent dignitaries including the Minister of Defence, YB Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the Chief of the Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, and the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Honorary Colonel Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, who welcomed the arrival of His Royal Highness.

The parade ceremony was led by Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Hanif Mohd Bakhtiar from PALAPES Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), showcasing the precision and dedication of the cadet officers. The event reinforced the role of PALAPES in producing disciplined, capable, and patriotic young leaders ready to serve the nation both in civilian life and as part of Malaysia’s reserve forces. – Selangor Royal Office
