Kampung Pasir Pandak Carnival Unites Community

Kampung Pasir Pandak Carnival Unites Community

KUCHING – The recent Gemilang Damai Carnival has again demonstrated its value as an effective platform for reinforcing communal bonds and solidarity within Kampung Pasir Pandak.

Organised by the village’s Friendly Neighbourhood (KJM) committee, the event marked the sixth series for the year 2025.

Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi, the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department, highlighted the carnival’s dual role.

He stated that it not only enables the KJM to host community-focused activities, but also actively promotes youth participation in strengthening neighbourhood values and grassroots leadership.

The Pantai Damai State Assemblyman delivered these remarks during the programme last Sunday. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU).

He explained that the initiative provides a structured opportunity for local non-governmental organisation leaders to coordinate activities that benefit residents.

The carnival fulfils the core objectives behind establishing KJMs across the entire DBKU administrative area.

A central aim of the organisation, he added, is to embed the Beautiful, Clean, Safe, Smart and Sustainable (CBSSS) values.

This framework is designed to cultivate a positive and prosperous community environment by focusing on physical and mental cleanliness, area security, smart technology adoption, and environmental conservation.

The warmly received carnival stands as evidence of the state government’s ongoing dedication to fostering communities that are harmonious, clean, and sustainable.
