The event began with the arrival of Petronas SWO4 Taskforce Leader, Saldina Abdul Salam, who signed the visitors’ book before delivering the opening remarks. Participants were then briefed on fire safety measures by PBK II Mohammad Faizul Ali.

Hands-on activities formed the highlight of the programme, with demonstrations on firefighting using fire extinguishers (APA) and gas cylinders, a team hose rolling and rolling competition, as well as a firefighter’s uniform competition to test agility and teamwork.

BBP Lutong Head, PBT II Henry Jugah, in his address, stressed the importance of adhering to strict fire safety procedures, particularly in high-risk environments such as petrol stations.
“Training like this is essential as it equips staff with the confidence and skills to contain and control a fire before our team arrives on site,” he said.

The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates and souvenirs to participants, followed by a group photo session. Also present were eight fire officers from the Alpha Team and two from the Charlie Team.

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of BBP Lutong and Petronas SWO4 to promote fire safety awareness, reduce risks, and ensure a structured emergency response system is in place at all Petronas stations under SWO4’s supervision. — UKAS
