KUALA LUMPUR – Rising talent from Kuching, Taylor Louise, has made her much-anticipated debut in musical theatre through her role in Dreamweaver The Musical, staged at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) on 29 and 30 August 2025.
The two-day production, which presented three shows, featured Taylor in the role of Rayna, the only child actor among the cast. Despite her young age, Taylor held her own alongside experienced performers, impressing audiences with her strong vocals, expressive acting, and confident stage presence.
Taylor’s appearance in Dreamweaver The Musical comes shortly after her return from London, where she proudly represented Malaysia at the Royal College of Music Britten Theatre during the 10th Anniversary ASAF Winner Showcase. She was also the only Sarawakian performer at the international stage, a moment that further highlighted Sarawak’s growing contribution to the global arts scene.
Audiences at PJPAC responded warmly to Taylor’s performance. Many praised her natural stage presence, with comments such as, “Rayna, you stole my heart!” and “Her voice is so beautiful and powerful for someone so young.” Others highlighted her ability to blend humour and emotion, making her character memorable and impactful.
Speaking after the show, Taylor expressed her gratitude: “I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be part of Dreamweaver The Musical. It has been an incredible learning experience and a dream come true to share the stage with such talented performers.”
The musical itself was well-received, filling halls with appreciative audiences and ending with standing ovations. Beyond entertainment, the production also carried a deeper message about cultural heritage and values, leaving a strong impression on theatre-goers.
For Taylor Louise, this milestone marks another step in a career that has already taken her from Kuching to international stages in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Sanremo, and London. Her successful debut at PJPAC has further cemented her place as one of Sarawak’s brightest young stars in the performing arts.
