Prime Minister Concludes One-Day Working Visit to Kuching

KUCHING – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim departed for the capital on Friday evening after completing a one-day working tour in Kuching, underscoring the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening ties with Sarawak.

He left Kuching International Airport (LTAK) at 8.20 pm aboard a special flight, accompanied by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Also present to send him off were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Chief Secretary Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, and Sarawak Federal Secretary Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister chaired the State Development Meeting with Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, focusing on cooperative efforts to advance Sarawak’s development agenda.

During the visit, he also joined state leaders and the local community for a breaking of fast ceremony at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque, sharing goodwill in conjunction with Ramadan. The event highlighted the spirit of togetherness and reinforced the values of unity and compassion.

In addition, the Prime Minister visited the Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaar, where he mingled with traders and residents. His presence drew attention from visitors, many of whom took the opportunity to greet him and capture photographs.

The working visit reflected the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong relations with Sarawak, ensuring that development initiatives and the welfare of the people remain a priority.
