Police Raid Entertainment Centre, Arrest Man for License Violation

Police Raid Entertainment Centre, Arrest Man for License Violation

KUCHING – A local man was arrested after police raided an entertainment centre on Jalan Rock, Kuching, for operating without a valid license. The incident took place on 7 March 2026 at around 10.10pm, authorities confirmed.

The operation, conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD), saw officers inspect the premises thoroughly. During the raid, the police discovered that the entertainment centre did not have the required entertainment license displayed. Equipment used by the premise was also seized as part of the enforcement action.

Kuching District Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Anak Chabu, said the arrest sends a clear message to operators that the law will be enforced strictly. “We will continue to conduct monitoring and enforcement actions regularly to ensure that all entertainment premises comply with the regulations set by the authorities,” he stated.

The police chief urged the public and business operators to adhere to licensing requirements to avoid legal repercussions. “Licensing is not only a legal obligation but also a measure to ensure public safety and orderly operation within the community,” he added.

This latest action is part of a broader effort by the Kuching IPD to maintain law and order in the district, particularly in areas where entertainment activities are conducted. Residents have welcomed the police initiative, citing that enforcement brings accountability and safer environments.

The operation reflects the authorities’ ongoing commitment to uphold regulations and maintain discipline among entertainment operators across Kuching. Police have also assured the public that similar operations will continue periodically to prevent violations and protect community interests.

As investigations continue, the arrested individual is expected to face legal proceedings under the relevant laws governing entertainment premises in Malaysia.
