MUKAH – The Sarawak Melanau Association (PPMS) Federation Exco Meeting for the first session of 2025 underscored the importance of unity and cooperation in driving the progress of the Melanau community.

Chaired by PPMS President Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Leo Toyad, the meeting was also attended by PPMS Deputy President and Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine, and leaders of associations under the PPMS umbrella.
In his address, Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Leo highlighted that the success of the Melanau community relied heavily on active involvement from all levels of society.
“Close cooperation between associations, the government and the community is the main key to achieving effective and sustainable development,” he said.

He further outlined several focus areas, including strengthening the community’s economy, enhancing education quality, and improving overall living standards.
The meeting also provided a platform for associations under PPMS to exchange views and chart strategic plans to ensure that the community’s development is carried out in a structured and effective manner.
