Prime Minister Anwar Praises Brunei’s Warm Reception

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his appreciation to Brunei Darussalam for the warm reception extended to him and the Malaysian delegation during their official visit to the country.

Anwar conveyed his thanks following an official dining ceremony hosted by Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah.

The Malaysian Prime Minister said he was grateful for the hospitality shown to the Malaysian delegation during their brief stay in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Malaysian and Bruneian leadership to strengthen their longstanding bilateral ties and discuss matters of mutual interest.

Anwar also extended his good wishes for the continued peace, prosperity and well-being of Brunei Darussalam and its people.

He expressed hope that the country would continue to prosper and that its people would live in peace and harmony under the leadership of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The official dining ceremony formed part of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s engagement in Brunei, where he met the Bruneian monarch as part of the countries’ ongoing high-level bilateral consultations.

Malaysia and Brunei maintain close relations, with cooperation extending across areas of shared interest. Regular meetings between the two countries’ leaders provide a platform to review bilateral ties and explore opportunities for further cooperation.

Anwar’s visit also highlighted the continued importance placed by both sides on maintaining strong ties between Malaysia and Brunei.
