Ramadan Pilgrimage Group Visits Seruyuk Village in Sebuyau

SEBUYAU – Kampung Seruyuk hosted the Ramadan Pilgrimage and Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme on Sunday, 15 March 2026, bringing residents and community leaders together during the holy month.

The gathering took place under a tent at the grounds of Darul Hidayah Mosque, where villagers welcomed the visiting group in a warm and friendly setting. Ramadan donations were distributed during the programme, adding to the joyful mood among those present.

The visit followed an earlier stop in Kampung Sungai Ladong, with Seruyuk becoming the next location in the pilgrimage series. The programme focuses on strengthening relationships between leaders and local communities while encouraging charitable acts during Ramadan.

Kampung Seruyuk, located along the coastal road, is also set to receive infrastructure improvements. Plans include connecting the village to the second trunk road branching from the junction near Kampung Sungai Ladong. Although the village sits close to the main road, internal roads within the area are scheduled for upgrades.

The Sarawak Government approved an allocation of RM200,000 for the project. Implementation will be carried out by the Samarahan Division Resident’s Office together with the Sebuyau District Office. The upgrades aim to improve accessibility and connectivity for villagers.

During the programme, Julaihi Narawi, Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Sarawak and Assemblyman for Sebuyau, thanked residents for their warm welcome. He highlighted the role of programmes like this in strengthening community unity and extended Ramadan greetings to those present.

The visit reflected ongoing efforts to support communities through both social outreach and development planning. By combining charitable activities with infrastructure improvements, the initiative supports the well-being of villages such as Seruyuk.

As the Ramadan Pilgrimage group continues its journey to other locations, the programme leaves behind a strong message of solidarity, community care, and steady development across Sebuyau and surrounding areas.
