Ramadhan Tour Satok Reaches Out to Asnaf Families

KUCHING – The Ramadhan Tour Programme and Ihsan Ramadhan Satok 2026M/1447H, organised by the UN Religious Bureau Satok State Assembly Branch, were held at Surau Darul Uyuun, Village No.3, on Saturday evening.

The event, which ran from 9.15pm to 10.30pm, was officiated by Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Utilities (Sarawak Energy Berhad and PETROS) and Satok State Assembly Member.

In line with the spirit of Ramadhan, the programme continued its annual tradition of supporting the local community, particularly the needy. During the ceremony, Datuk Ibrahim presented donations to 15 villagers identified as asnaf, helping ease their burden in preparing for the holy month.

He emphasised that the act of giving during Ramadhan not only provides relief to the underprivileged but also strengthens the bond between leaders and the grassroots community.

“The practice of giving alms and sharing sustenance in the month of Ramadhan can not only help the underprivileged, but also strengthen the relationship between leaders and the community at the grassroots level,” he said.

In addition, Datuk Ibrahim handed over a donation to Pemanca Rosli Sahari of the Sarawak River Bank South Area, representing the Surau Darul Uyuun Committee. The contribution was intended to support surau programmes throughout Ramadhan, ensuring that worshippers could benefit from enhanced facilities and activities.

The ceremony was witnessed by Sarbini Abang, Chairman of the Satok Religious Bureau Committee and Secretary of the UN Satok Branch.

Also present were Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak and Deputy Head of PBB DUN Satok Abdul Samat Gany, DBKU Deputy Director Mohd Faisal Adenan, Village Head No. 3 Liliana Bohari, PBB Satok Youth Head Cr Mohamad Akram Mohd Karim, PBB Satok Women’s Head Cr Salina Mohamad Salleh, PBB Youth Leader 1828 Satok Muhammad Zhariff Azahari, as well as members of the Surau Darul Uyuun committee and PBB Satok exco members.

The programme highlighted the importance of community solidarity during Ramadhan, reinforcing the values of compassion, charity, and unity. Leaders expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to inspire residents to support one another, especially those in need.
