Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport (Rivers and Sea), Dato Henry Harry Jinep, announced the allocation during the launch of the 17th REDEEMS Gawai Carnival celebration on Saturday. The grant will facilitate the installation of a running track and a newly built astaka (grandstand) equipped with various amenities.

“We see REDEEMS football fields being used frequently. With cleaner, safer facilities that meet minimum quality standards, we believe the community will feel more satisfied and proud of their sporting environment,” said Dato Henry, who is also the Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Tasik Biru.

He also voiced his support for all cultural and community events organised by REDEEMS, encouraging the younger generation to play a role in preserving native customs and heritage.

The awards were provided by the Association of Welfare Bisingai, Sarawak (PPB), recognising educational excellence within the community.

The announcement and presentations reflect ongoing efforts to support youth development, cultural heritage, and community well-being in Bau and its surrounding areas.
