RON95 Fuel Price Reduced to RM1.99 per Liter for All Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR – Starting 30 September, all Malaysians will enjoy the new reduced price of RON95 petrol at only RM1.99 per liter, the government announced today.

Malaysians will only need to use their MyKad at the counter and pump, or through the petrol station’s mobile application, to receive the benefit. The initiative is part of the government’s continued effort to ease the burden of the people while boosting economic growth in uncertain global conditions.

According to the statement, police and military personnel will be the first group to enjoy the new fuel price, beginning 27 September. This will be followed by Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients on 28 September, before the scheme is fully opened to the public three days later.

Prime Minister’s Office said the decision to lower the RON95 price reflects the MADANI Government’s appreciation for the people’s sacrifices and hard work in driving the nation forward.

“This step is the highest appreciation for all Malaysians who continue to work hard, strive, and share the determination with the MADANI Government in boosting the country’s economic growth. Our success today is the result of the strength of the people who never give up,” the statement said.

The new fuel price comes at a time when many nations are facing economic uncertainty, and Malaysia hopes this move will support households, businesses, and daily commuters.

For decades, fuel price has been a major concern for the rakyat, directly affecting the cost of living. With this adjustment, the government expects to ease inflationary pressure and provide relief for families struggling with rising expenses.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to fair and responsible economic management, balancing subsidies with national growth, while ensuring that the rakyat remain at the heart of every policy.
