SIBURAN, 3 May 2025 — The Serian Division Community Solidarity Walk (RSK) 2025 ended on a high note with a vibrant closing ceremony at Dewan Manggeng, Siburan, marking yet another successful effort to foster unity among Sarawakians.
Organised by the Social Development Council (MPS) under the Ministry of Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Sarawak (KPWK), the event gathered more than 200 participants from all walks of life. This year’s RSK Serian 2025 programme focused on building stronger community ties through interactive activities, forums, and inclusive participation.

The one-day event received strong backing from the Serian Division Resident Office, the Siburan District Office, and 17 state and federal agencies. Eight villages around Siburan took part, including members from Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) and youth groups. Their involvement made the event a true grassroots collaboration between local authorities and the people.
Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament, Datuk Willie Mongin, officiated the closing ceremony and delivered a heartfelt message about the importance of nurturing unity.
“Unity must be cultivated. Events like RSK give space for dialogue, understanding and foster harmony regardless of race, age or belief,” he said.
He also emphasised that such initiatives support Sarawak’s vision to become a developed state by 2030, ensuring that all communities are included in the journey forward.
Serian Division Resident Representative, Rashdan Hazemi, praised the collaborative spirit of the organisers and villagers.
“This is more than a programme—it’s a community movement. Unity and cooperation are the foundation of social harmony in Sarawak,” he remarked.
The programme featured various segments including a Mini Solidarity Town Hall, a Social Issues Dialogue, Community Solidarity Sports, and the lively Community Solidarity Night. These sessions encouraged meaningful interactions among villagers, youth, government officers, and community leaders.
Also present were Siburan District Officer Ranum Bari and Mohd Syahrulnizam Jamalludin, representing the Permanent Secretary of KPWK Sarawak, both demonstrating the state’s continued commitment to bridging the gap between administration and citizens.
RSK Serian 2025 has once again proven that the spirit of unity in Sarawak is alive and well, and remains a key pillar in building an inclusive and prosperous society. — UKAS EDITION
