RTP Boosts Facilities for Batu Lin and Krusen Siu Villages

TEBEDU – Residents of Kampung Batu Lin and Kampung Krusen Siu stand to gain from new infrastructure works under the Rural Transformation Programme, a state initiative aimed at strengthening basic facilities in rural areas.

The handover ceremony took place on Monday and was officiated by Tebedu assemblyman Simon Sinang Bada. The event marked the start of construction by the appointed contractors.

In Kampung Krusen Siu, the project focuses on upgrading the village drainage system. The improvement addresses stagnant water issues, supports cleaner surroundings, and creates a safer environment for residents.

Kampung Batu Lin will receive a chain-link fence around its community field. The fencing improves safety for those who use the space for sports, gatherings, and village events. Local leaders expect the facility to draw stronger participation in social and cultural activities while keeping the area secure.

The projects fall under the Rural Transformation Programme, which targets improvements in rural infrastructure across Sarawak. The programme focuses on practical upgrades such as roads, drainage systems, and community facilities.

Dr Simon said the initiative shows the government’s continued focus on rural development. He stated that infrastructure upgrades remain a priority in improving living conditions for rural communities.

Residents welcomed the projects and highlighted the value of safe and reliable facilities. The drainage work reduces health concerns linked to stagnant water, while the fenced field offers a protected space for children and families.

Projects under the Rural Transformation Programme continue to narrow the gap between rural and urban areas in Sarawak. Work in Kampung Batu Lin and Kampung Krusen Siu adds to wider efforts to strengthen village infrastructure and support community wellbeing.

With construction now underway, residents look forward to improved facilities that strengthen safety, comfort, and daily life in the villages.
