Meradong State Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the RM50,000 project, funded by the Sarawak government, involves the cementing of a 190-metre road linking Rumah Panjang Landing with Rumah Jawi, Sungai Gemuan Bintangor.

“When this road is completed, it will not only provide convenience to residents, but also serve as a safer and more comfortable alternative to the old road, which is often submerged during heavy rains or high tides,” he said during the Brief Handover Ceremony of the Meradong DUN RTP Project Site at Rumah Panjang Landing on Monday.

He emphasised that implementing agencies, including the Sarikei Division Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID), must ensure contractors appointed through the lottery system comply with all processes and work specifications.

Datuk Ding also commended the detailed project planning outlined in the approval documents and said the work must be completed within three months, from 18 August to 19 November 2025.
