Sarawak’s Runfluencer Club Proves Endurance in RUNLIGA 2025 Challenge

Runfluencer Club Racks Up 12,273 km — Ranks 41/130 in RUNLIGA 2025

Kuching, SarawakRunfluencer Running Club from Sarawak has made a notable showing in the RUNLIGA Malaysia Challenge 2025, amassing a total of 12,273.87 kilometres with its 55 team members, placing 41st out of 130 teams nationally.

The winning team in this year’s challenge was MAF Runners, who dominated with a staggering 113,136.44 km. While Runfluencer did not reach the top tier, club captain Gwen Chong says she is proud of the team’s consistency and spirit, saying that every kilometre counted.

Runfluencer is active locally in Kuching, participating not only in RUNLIGA but also in many other regional and international long-distance running challenges and marathons. Their engagement in these events has helped build fitness, camaraderie, and community among runners in Sarawak.

On 16 September 2025, in line with Malaysia Day, the club organised a community “get-together run” at the Kuching Waterfront. Members had the choice of running 9.16 km or 16.9 km, reflecting the date’s significance (16/9). After the run, light refreshments were served, and members brought food to share in a communal setting.

Community and civic appearance added meaning to the event: MBKS Councilor Nicholas Wung joined the Team and offered words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of healthy activities in the community.

Looking ahead, Runfluencer is preparing for major upcoming events including the Kuching Marathon 2025 and the Kuala Lumpur Marathon. Captain Gwen Chong remains optimistic about their performance, aiming higher in future challenges and pushing the team to improve.
