KUCHING – Puan Dayang Norjihan binti Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari joined members of Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri‑Isteri (SABATI) for a Khatam Al-Quran programme at the SABATI surau on 12 March 2026.
The gathering marked the end of a Tadarus Al-Quran programme held from 9 to 12 March in conjunction with Ramadan.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Morliah Awang Daud, who spoke about the value of reading the Quran together as a way to strengthen faith and unity among members.
Fifteen participants joined the Khatam Al-Quran session. Organisers divided them into five groups, each led by a designated group leader.
This structure kept the recitation organised and allowed the participants to complete the readings smoothly while building cooperation among the groups.
Several SABATI members attended the programme, including Morliah Awang Daud, Sharifah Ehsan, and Baduyah Bujang, together with other members of the association.
Their presence reflected SABATI’s focus on strengthening religious engagement and fellowship during Ramadan.
The Khatam Al-Quran programme forms part of SABATI’s wider effort to create shared spiritual activities for its members.
Through gatherings like this, the association encourages devotion while strengthening ties among participants.
Observers often point to SABATI’s long record of supporting charitable and religious programmes across Sarawak.
The group’s activities extend beyond Quran recitation and include welfare programmes and community outreach aimed at helping the wider public.
For those involved, the event offered both a spiritual moment and a chance to observe Ramadan together.
Collective religious activities like this often bring members closer and inspire continued devotion throughout the holy month.
As Ramadan continues, SABATI plans more faith-based gatherings and community programmes, reinforcing its role in promoting spiritual and social engagement across Sarawak.
