DARO – The Saberkas Daro Branch continued its annual tradition with the Lambuk Porridge Tour, held at the Pangtray Village Unit level on 14 March 2026.
The programme was led by YB Dr Haji Safiee Bin Haji Ahmad, Assemblyman for Daro (N.43), who also serves as the Chairman of the Daro Branch Saberkas and Secretary General of Sarawak State Saberkas.
The event was organised in collaboration with KRT and PPWS Kampung Pangtray, with peanut porridge prepared and distributed to the local community.
The Lambuk Porridge Tour, held during the fasting month, is a long-standing initiative by Saberkas to foster unity and compassion among residents.
It provides an opportunity for community members to come together, share food, and strengthen social ties while observing the values of charity and care.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Puan Siti Nurfatimah Binti Hussen, Unity Officer of JPNIN Mukah Division; Penghulu Jebli Bin Ngok, KK Shamsiah Binti Saibi, and Mr Azuan Bin Sahari, Head of the Kampung Pangtray Sub-Committee Unit.
Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration between local leaders, government agencies, and community organisations in sustaining meaningful programmes.
Dr Safiee highlighted that initiatives such as the Lambuk Porridge Tour reflect the spirit of Sarawakku Sayang and Sarawak Maju Makmur, which emphasise inclusivity, care, and prosperity for all.
He noted that Saberkas continues to play a vital role in engaging youth and communities through welfare, cultural, and sporting activities.
Residents welcomed the programme, describing it as a valuable tradition that not only provides food aid but also strengthens the bonds of friendship and neighbourliness.
The distribution of porridge during Ramadan is seen as a symbolic act of generosity, reinforcing the values of sharing and unity.
The event concluded with the distribution of porridge to villagers, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan was celebrated with warmth and togetherness.
The Saberkas Daro Branch reaffirmed its commitment to continue similar initiatives throughout the year, supporting both community welfare and youth development.
