BINTANGOR – The SABERKAS Prihatin programme brought Aidilfitri cheer to Meradong on 23 March, blending festive celebration with the sharing of agricultural harvests in a community-focused event.
The programme was officiated by Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, the assemblyman for Meradong and chairman of SUPP Pampang Bintangor, along with his wife, Datin Kueh Nai Fun.
Their presence reflected the focus on strengthening ties between leaders and residents, especially during the festive season.
Activities took place across several locations, including Balai Mayuhguna Kampung Selemas Bintangor, the homes of Penghulu Abg Hashim and Pemancha Rapen Angga, as well as Kampung Darul Falah, Sungai Gemuan, and Kampung Melayu Scheme B. The visits ensured the programme reached different parts of the community.
Residents turned out in festive attire, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. Families gathered, children joined in the celebrations, and the sense of togetherness stood out throughout the day.
The event also saw participation from engineers from the Sarikei Public Works Department, teachers, and community leaders.
Their involvement showed how different groups came together, not only to celebrate but also to support one another.
In his speech, Datuk Ding thanked the community for their hospitality and strong turnout. He highlighted the value of programmes like this in keeping traditions alive and strengthening unity among residents.
SABERKAS Prihatin focuses on bringing leaders closer to the people while encouraging a culture of sharing.
By combining celebration with support for those in need, the initiative keeps the spirit of compassion and inclusiveness at the centre of community life.
Events like this continue to play an important role in maintaining social bonds. In Meradong, the programme served as both a festive gathering and a reminder of the shared responsibility to care for one another and preserve cultural traditions.
