SABERKAS Spreads Ramadan Joy with Bubur Lambuk Roadshow in Sarawak

SABERKAS Spreads Ramadan Joy with Bubur Lambuk Roadshow in Sarawak

LUNDU, 8 March 2025 – The Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) is celebrating Ramadan in a heartwarming way through its 2025 Bubur Lambuk Roadshow Program, strengthening community bonds and promoting charity during the holy month.

SABERKAS President and Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries, and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, announced that this year’s program has expanded to 61 locations across Sarawak. The initiative was launched in Lundu, where 500 packs of bubur lambuk were successfully distributed to residents.

“To ensure the success of this program, SABERKAS has increased the funding to RM1,500 for each branch, compared to RM1,000 in previous years,” said Abdul Karim.

“In total, RM91,500 has been allocated to support this meaningful initiative across Sarawak. This financial assistance is expected to ease the organization of the program at every SABERKAS branch.”

The launch event, held on Saturday, was attended by several key figures, including Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, Tanjong Datu ADUN Azizul Annuar Adenan, SABERKAS Secretary-General Safiee Ahmad, and Lundu District Officer Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha.

Apart from the Bubur Lambuk Roadshow, SABERKAS continues to demonstrate its commitment to community welfare through the ‘SABERKAS Prihatin’ program, which was introduced on 8 March 2021.

“Recently, we have provided immediate assistance to flood victims in Miri and Bintulu this January. So far, 34 SABERKAS branches have applied to run aid programs in their respective areas, with a total of RM410,000 allocated to help those in need,” Abdul Karim added.

This initiative reflects SABERKAS’s continuous effort to foster unity, charity, and volunteerism among Sarawakians, making Ramadan a more meaningful and giving season. — UKAS EDITION
