KUALA RAJANG – Community welfare initiatives in Kuala Rajang have been further strengthened through the SABERKAS Ziarah Prihatin Programme, which extended direct support to vulnerable families in several longhouses around Muara Payang.
The outreach, organised by the Kuala Rajang Service Centre in collaboration with SABERKAS Kuala Rajang, involved visits to Rumah Muli, Rumah Sujang, and Rumah Jugah, where selected recipients received immediate assistance.
The programme focused on households identified as requiring urgent support, ensuring that aid reached those most in need.
Leading the delegation was SABERKAS Kuala Rajang Deputy Chairman Mohamad Shukurdi Tazen, who personally visited families including Benya Mat at Rumah Muli, Lula Minggu at Rumah Sujang, and siblings Brayan Yohanes Ngumbang and Airoseylla Badik at Rumah Jugah.
Organisers explained that the initiative aims to ease the burden of affected families by providing daily necessities while also offering administrative guidance.
This includes helping households navigate applications for government aid schemes, ensuring that eligible individuals are not excluded from available support.
Beyond material assistance, the programme served as a platform for direct engagement with residents. By interacting closely with communities, organisers were able to better understand local challenges and tailor future welfare efforts to meet specific needs.
The Ziarah Prihatin Programme is expected to continue as part of SABERKAS’s ongoing grassroots welfare agenda in Kuala Rajang.
The initiative underscores the organisation’s commitment to strengthening community ties and promoting inclusive development at the local level.
The event also highlighted strong cooperation between political leaders, youth organisations, and community representatives.
Among those present were Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) Kuala Rajang Youth Chief Mornurazli Morshidi, PBB Kuala Rajang Women Chief Misiah Abu Seman, SABERKAS members, and Penghulu Bidai Gisang.
Their participation reflected a united effort to support welfare programmes and reinforce solidarity across the constituency.
By combining welfare assistance with administrative support and community engagement, SABERKAS aims to build resilience among rural families while ensuring that no household is left behind in accessing aid.
