Samariang Aidilfitri Reception Strengthens Community Ties

KUCHING – The N7 Samariang Friendly Neighbourhood Reception Ceremony was celebrated with enthusiasm at Dewan Kampung Tunku, bringing together residents and local leaders in a spirit of unity and goodwill.

The event was graced by Datuk Hajah Sharifah Hasidah binti Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) and Assemblywoman for N7 Samariang. She was joined by Dato Haji Hilmy bin Haji Othman, Mayor of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU).

Jointly organised by 13 KJM N7 Samariang, the ceremony coincided with the Aidilfitri celebrations. Its purpose was to strengthen friendships, foster neighbourly spirit, and reinforce ties between the community and local authorities. The atmosphere reflected harmony, inclusivity, and shared joy.

Highlights of the evening included the prize presentation for winners of the N7 Samariang Bertuntung Raya and Lampu Cabik competitions, which showcased creativity and festive spirit among residents. A lucky draw added further excitement, drawing cheers from attendees.

Also present were Encik Ramzi bin Abdillah, Director of DBKU; Tuan Haji Morshidi bin Said, Private Secretary to the Deputy Premier; and Mr Zamahari Haji Saidi, Chairman of the N7 Samariang Friendly Neighbourhood Coalition. Their attendance underscored the collaborative effort between government representatives, local organisations, and the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, leaders emphasised the importance of nurturing neighbourly bonds and maintaining close relations between residents and authorities. Such initiatives, they noted, help build stronger communities and ensure that cultural and festive occasions serve as platforms for unity.
